About the Role
We are hiring for an enthusiastic Lead Data Analyst to provide analytical leadership and drive programs of work, as part of business-as-usual and Digital Transformation projects, to deliver analytics that support the strategic goals of the University.
You will be driving business intelligence across the University and Health, involving the improvement to data literacy and the creation of actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Exec leadership to provide analytical leadership, and drive and lead the delivery of programs of work for Digital Transformation projects that support the University’s strategic goals in research and rankings, including leading the definition of the analytics strategy and scoping of delivery for the programs of work.
- Work with the Head of Enterprise Analytics to ensure continuation of business-as-usual with the overall University data and analytics strategy and operating model for the Digital Transformation programs of work.
- Provide functional and technical leadership, subject matter expertise and specialist support for strategic research and rankings data analytics to enable evidence-based decision making and improve the University’s rankings.
- Lead all aspects of strategic planning, consultancy, requirements analysis, design, build and configuration, test, change management and training, release management, monitoring, tuning, and maintenance of associated analytics platforms and technologies.
- Provide expert advice to MQ clients, stakeholders and MQ IT leadership in relevant analytics platforms and technologies, including identification and evaluation of emerging technologies and trends that have the potential to create value, the identification of business and technology risks, and opportunities to continually improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead and deliver the design, implementation, and operation of analytics, analytics platforms and technologies, including liaison with internal and external stakeholders, service partners and suppliers, and ensure compliance with relevant MQ and MQ IT standards and processes.
- Comply with relevant EEO and WHS regulations.
- Perform any other duties as required and appropriate for this classification.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in a related field or equivalent knowledge
- Knowledge and extensive experience as a manager and subject matter expert in analytics, spanning data engineering, descriptive analytics, business intelligence, statistical analysis, and predictive modelling.
- Knowledge of relevant concepts (e.g., database management) and extensive experience in the application of performance indicators
- Exposure in curating and linking benchmark data to generate innovative insights.
- Familiarity with Alteryx, DBT, Python, R, SQL, AWS/Snowflake, and Power BI
- Manage and lead high-performance teams consisting of technology professionals responsible for Level 2 and Level 3 technical support to deliver required outcomes
