Library Acquisitions and Cataloguing Officer

Are you passionate about books, community and creating collections that inspire? We are looking for a Library Acquisitions and Cataloguing Officer to help keep our libraries fresh, relevant, and engaging.
In this position, you will take the lead in selecting, ordering and cataloguing new materials across our smaller branch libraries and outreach services. Your work will ensure our collections reflect and support the diverse needs of our communities.
Working hours:
- Wednesday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
- Hours may vary based on library rosters
- Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings will be scheduled on a rotating basis
This is more than just a purchasing role – it’s an opportunity to make a real impact on how people connect with information, stories and ideas.
What you will do
- Select, order and catalogue library items
- Liaise with suppliers and monitor allocated budgets
- Support staff and customers with outstanding customer service
- Keep collections accurate and engaging
What you bring
- A love for libraries and the community
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Experience in acquisitions or cataloguing
- Library qualifications and tech skills are a plus
- Police Check (within last six months) and Working with Children Check (employee)
