Applications are now open for the position of Library Technician.
We are seeking suitably qualified, experienced, and enthusiastic candidates to join our team. This position is Cross Campus - St. Pauls in Altona North and Notre Dame Campus in Point Cook.
This is a full-time (Category will be confirmed with the candidate at the time of interview) position based on experience and qualifications. The successful candidate will be entitled to several weeks of leave throughout the year (depending upon the Catergory) and reports directly to Library Leader. The hours for this position are Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.15pm.

Salary: Based on experience in accordance with the Teacher scale of the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022 (CEMEA). These are Fixed Term Full Time positions.

Skills/Experience required:
- The Library Technician performs library specific tasks in support of the Librarian and/or Library Leader.
- Assist, under the direction of the Librarian and/or Library leader, with the day-to-day operation of the library and circulation desk duties which include issuing and receiving library resources
- Process all print and non-print material
- Maintain, process and catalogue periodicals, route to relevant departments and maintain periodical displays
- Proficiency in ICTs to produce library documentation, flyers and multimedia resources as requested by the Librarian and/or Library Leader.
- Collection maintenance, shelving, repairing material, withdrawing damaged and lost material.
- Maintain the Library’s audio-visual equipment which is circulated through AccessIt.
- Supervise students in the library
- Assist with readers advising to foster a love of reading and literature
- Produce library displays to promote reading and literature events as directed by the Librarian and/or Library Leader
- Assisting students/staff with reference and research enquiries, and where possible promote the benefits and features of Emmanuel College’s online databases, Library website and Research guides
- Assist the Librarian and/or Library Leader with library lessons and library competitions
Special Requirements:
