Accommodating only 42 residents, Carpenter Court Aged Care Centre offers a caring and supportive lifestyle in a lively setting. Located at a prime spot directly opposite the Merewether Beach, the centre enjoys open sea breeze, majestic views and we are only 10 minutes away from Newcastle CBD.
We are looking for a Lifestyle Coordinator on Permanent Part Time basis to join our friendly and dedicated team.
About the Role
The Lifestyle Coordinator (LC) is responsible for developing, supporting and coordinating recreation programs for residents working towards emotional and physical maintenance through recreational and craft activities that promote psychological, social and physical wellbeing. The LC will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team in providing residents with quality care, actively trying to maintain the skill level, independence and mobility of individual residents. The activities for residents are designed to support, challenge and enhance the psychological spiritual, social, emotional and physical well-being of individuals.
- Prepare and implement a diverse range of recreational activities for residents that meet their individual needs, including group, small group and individual activities.
- Assist residents who require such assistance with mobility as per care plan.
- Responsible for documenting in the residents progress notes using iCare as needed
- Development of and evaluation of the residents‟ care plan.
- Evidence of strong relationships with other team members, which assists in building a cohesive workplace.
- To meet Work Health and Safety obligations in line with TSA Policy & Procedures & relevant legislation.
About You
- An appreciation of and the ability and willingness to promote and support the values and ethos of The Salvation Army.
- Certificate III in Aged Care
- Current First Aid certificate
- Demonstrable knowledge of aged care needs and recreational aids for elderly people.
- Proven ability to monitor and review recreational needs of the elderly.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer skills include MS office package
- Proven leadership skills
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to Continuous improvement
- Certificate IV in Lifestyle and Leisure (Desirable)
- National NDIS Workers Screening Check
