About the role
This position is a permanent full-time role in the Maintenance team, based from Moruya and required to work at other depots and various locations across the Shire. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing maintenance activities (planned and reactive) of transport (road, bridge, pathway, drainage, marine) assets including the Kings Hwy (under RMCC contract), while ensuring crew compliance with regulatory standards.
Other responsibilities include ensuring these activities are undertaken in a safe, efficient and sustainable manner, with the customer front of mind. The successful candidate will manage and supervise staff, following Council’s Values and Code of Conduct, and in compliance with workplace health and safety legislation. The position also responds to out-of-hours issues and support out-of-hours activities, as part of a rotating roster.
The starting salary for this position is $3,640.74 per fortnight plus 12% superannuation.

About you
In this exciting role you will be able to put your Diploma of Civil Construction Management (or equivalent management qualification) to good use. You will be an experienced leader and have extensive demonstrated experience in the supervision of civil construction maintenance including roads, drainage, and marine infrastructure. You will also be confident in implementing Workplace Health and Safety requirements. The successful candidate will also demonstrate:
- Experience in planning and monitoring resources and activities including budgeting.
- Sound knowledge in the use of technology and ability to use software programs.
- Good communications and collaboration skills.
