Manager, Financial Performance and Analytics

Salary: Clerk Grade 11/12 ($149,739 - $173,174 pa), plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
Your role
The role is responsible for leading the management of the Department’s management accounting and financial analysis team functions. The role is responsible for the development of financial management reports, including monthly reports, budget and financial forecasting, cost programs and the provision of financial management services to Finance Business Partners and DCJ’s Executive Leadership Team and senior stakeholders.
The role is leads and develops critical financial analysis and budget management processes to inform and support the Department’s strategic decision-making.
What you’ll do
This role involves overseeing the preparation of financial analysis and management reporting to support informed whole-of-department strategic decision-making. The position plays a key part in enhancing the Department’s operational performance through sound financial management practices and providing strategic advice to the Director, Executive Director and senior stakeholders on budgets, forecasts, financial management, and business risks management.
The role leads financial analysis within the Department’s management accounting and financial strategy function, ensuring alignment with departmental objectives and the delivery of high-quality financial outcomes.
The role also supports the development and implementation of uniform financial reporting, noting that the viewership of deliverables prepared by the Financial Performance and Analytics team.
The successful candidate will be working in a dynamic and collaborative environment within the Financial Performance and Analytics team. The team provides strategic financial insight and ensuring that financial operations align with the Department's overarching goals.
The Financial Performance and Analytics team culture fosters a supportive and open environment where communication and collaboration are key, enabling the team to manage complex financial data and deliver high-quality financial reporting. The team works closely with Divisional executives and other key stakeholders to ensure that financial management practices meet rigorous standards and drive the organization’s success.
The role reports directly to the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis and works with key stakeholders across the Finance function to develop finance strategy and support the successful delivery of the organisational objectives.
What we’re looking for
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Business, Commerce or related discipline, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
An ideal candidate should demonstrate that they build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and provide financial advice to both financial and non-financial senior stakeholders.
An ideal candidate should demonstrate that they can lead and manage staff to create exceptional morale, enthusiasm and a culture of innovation across the department, including carrying out performance appraisals, leadership, coaching and support to build a collegiate, high performing team and ensure organisational and personal development goals are met.
