We are currently seeking experienced, confident, and compassionate Support Workers to join our growing team in Newcastle, supporting participants across Independent Living Options (ILO) and Supported Independent Living (SIL) environments.
About the Role:
This role is ideal for support workers with a strong background in mental health and disability support, who are confident in implementing Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) and restrictive practices as required to maintain participant safety and wellbeing. You will be working across a 24/7 rotating roster which includes: days, evenings, and sleepovers.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver person-centred support aligned with participant goals and individual care plans
- Confidently and safely implement restrictive practices and BSP strategies
- Support participants with daily living in ILO and SIL, emotional regulation and social engagement
- Maintain accurate shift documentation and incident reporting as required
- Work collaboratively within a team to uphold quality, safety, and dignity in care
Essential Criteria
- Minimum 12 months experience in mental health disability support
- Proven ability to implement restrictive practices and follow positive behaviour support plans
- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Mental Health or related field and experienced.
Desirable Criteria
Mental health peer support or trauma-informed care training is highly regarded.
