Northpark has completed an exciting new Expansion Project to ensure the growing demand for quality health care across Melbourne’s Northwest is met.
The Expansion project included:
- Expansion of our established Mental Health inpatient units by 22 beds, including a 10-bed Older Persons Unit
- Growth of support areas including group spaces, meeting rooms, interview spaces, a patient exercise room and patient support areas
- Northpark provides mental health services including inpatient and outpatient programs tailored to meet the needs of people with a range of mental health conditions.
The Opportunity
This role will lead and deliver, in conjunction with the Allied Health Manager, exceptional, best practice mental health services to ensure excellent clinical outcomes and an industry leading patient experience. The Mental Health (MH) Therapy Team Leader will take a leadership role in the coordination and provision of MH services, and provide supervision, direction and guidance to the junior members of the MH team.
We are seeking a Grade 3 Team Leader (Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Psychologist or Mental Health Nurse) to lead a team of multidisciplinary clinicians and deliver individual and group-based therapeutic intervention across inpatient and outpatient settings. The role reports directly to the Allied Health Manager of Northpark and LaTrobe Private Hospitals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide management and supervision to a team of multidisciplinary clinicians
- Provide clear direction and effective communication to team members
- Lead and promote continuous quality improvement by identifying and addressing barriers to effective care
- Support the Allied Health Manager with recruitment and on-boarding of clinical staff, as required.
- Facilitate training, professional development, and supervision for clinical team members, as required
- Facilitate evidence-based group and individual intervention, within inpatient and outpatient settings, across our Adult Psychiatric, Older Persons and Early Parenting Units/Programs
- Deliver therapeutic services to patients with a broad range of psychopathology, including psychoeducation and skills-based sessions
- Possess strong risk assessment and safety planning skills
- Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, and other allied health/nursing clinicians and leaders
- Attend and contribute towards multidisciplinary team meetings
- Possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously and efficiently
- Participate in the development and review of programs
About You
To be considered for this role, you should possess:
- Appropriate recognised qualifications in Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Social Work or Mental Health Nursing
- Appropriate Registration with AHPRA or relevant professional bodies
- 10+ years of clinical experience with significant experience in the mental health sector
- Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills
- High level of computer literacy skills
- Extensive experience delivering a wide range of therapeutic modalities
- Experience in group facilitation within therapeutic frameworks
- Clinical expertise and commitment to high quality patient care and continuous improvement
- Excellent organisational, time management and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work autonomously
- Current Working with Children Check
- Full vaccination against COVI9-19 and Influenza
Desirable:
- 3+ years of leadership experience
- Board-Approved Supervisor status
The successful candidate will receive a salary based on years of relevant experience against the relevant Healthscope Enterprise Agreement, i.e., "Psychologists and Dieticians Agreement 2023-2026" or “Healthscope – Allied Health Professionals 2023-2026”. Grade 3 hourly rates range between $55.72 and $67.43. A Higher Qualifications Allowance may be paid in addition to the base rate, as per the relevant Enterprise Agreement.
