The KOTH Processing Team seeks a Mill Superintendent with technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills to support our processing facility.

King of the Hills (KOTH) is the flagship operation of Vault Minerals Limited and one of the largest gold mines in Australia. After a significant expansion, KOTH now features a 5.2 million tonne per annum (Mtpa) processing plant, providing a solid platform for long-term production growth. This dynamic operation combines open-pit and underground mining, with exciting exploration activities driving the future. KOTH is located approximately 900 km northeast of Perth and 25 km north of Leonora, within the Goldfields Region of Western Australia.
Reporting to the Processing Manager, the Mill Superintendent will oversee the operation of the process plant at the KOTH Processing Facility for Vault Minerals. The position is responsible for the delivery, technical quality, integrity and adequacy of all ore processing and gold recovery operations (including water supply and environmental discharge system) as well as ensuring the facilities are maintained and operated in a safe, efficient and economic manner. . In addition, this role will identify, develop and implement improvement initiatives to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of processing operations.

This position will be offered on an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth.
Key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Ensure compliance with VAU safety policies, the Work Health and Safety Act 2020, Work Health and Safety (Mines) regulations 2022 and other appropriate legislation.
- Work with OHS to review and prioritise the training matrix to ensure all plant personnel are suitably trained and development plans are prepared and identified for each operator
- Assist Mill Shift Supervisors to ensure all plant crews have adequate manning coverage, skills and competencies.
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of the process plant to ensure production objectives are met by prioritising operational/maintenance and electrical activities.
- Ensure cohesive management and operational processes occur across both rosters through effective consultation and communication with the other Mill Superintendent.
- Oversee plant performance in each section of the process plant, including crushing, grinding, leaching, tailings dams and surface water circuits.
- Ensure relevant security processes and protocols are enacted and overseen for all physical gold bearing processes.
- Oversee the tailings storage facilities and surface water systems to ensure there are no breaches of company procedures, legislation or environmental regulations. Where deviations or concern exist, provided suitable guidance or instruction.
- Ensure plant monthly, weekly and daily inspections occur and that accurate documentation/log sheets are completed and submitted in a timely manner.
- Conduct monthly cost reviews, along with reporting, budgeting, and re-forecasting
About You
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in mineral processing or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Tertiary qualification in Metallurgy or Process Engineering or a related discipline desirable.
- Previous experience and working knowledge in operating a gold plant is essential for competent operation in the following sections; Crushing, Grinding, Leaching (CIP), Gravity/Gold Room, Reagents and TSF.
- Completion of minimum requirements of Section 26 statutory requirements.
- Working knowledge and understanding of the Work Health and Safety Act 2020, and Work Health and Safety (Mines) regulations 2022
- Certificate IV Frontline Management or IV Training and Assessment desirable
- Certificate IV Metalliferous Mineral Processing (or equivalent) desirable
- Proficient in the use of MS office suite, Chemwatch, Pronto, Citect, INX suite, Pi knowledge or similar platform. Demonstrable experience in control system automation and loop tuning will be highly regarded.
- Ability to develop, implement and follow systems and procedures
- Good mechanical aptitude and understanding of maintenance planning systems.
- WA Driver’s License (manual C Class)
