About the Position
As a Residential Support Worker, you will provide essential support to individuals facing complex trauma and psychosocial challenges, aligning with their personalised program plans.
Collaborating with external care teams and families, your role will involve delivering high-quality, responsive, and person-centered care. You will assist participants in developing everyday living skills, gaining community access, and achieving their personal goals to improve their quality of life and physical and mental health.
Responsibilities
- Provide support for daily living activities and community engagement, tailored to the needs of participants. This may include tasks such as housekeeping, personal hygiene, medication administration, and transportation to appointments and community activities.
- Stay informed about participants' needs and care plans, ensuring you are aware of any changes or updates.
- Promote community inclusion and participation by supporting participants in establishing and maintaining relationships and pursuing interests through community activities and services, based on their individual needs, abilities, and preferences.
- Work closely with participants' clinical teams, attend training sessions, and keep up to date with treatment plans to ensure a high standard of care is consistently provided.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- A minimum Certificate IV or qualification in disability, mental health, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience providing behavioural support to individuals with complex mental health needs
- Proven experience working with participants with high support needs
- A clear understanding of professional boundaries and restrictive practices
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear and concise case notes
- Strong interpersonal skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively within a diverse team and work autonomously when needed
Requirements

- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Working with children check (Paid)
- A minimum Certificate IV or qualification in disability, mental health, or a related field
- Current First Aid Certificate and CPR
- A valid NSW driver's license and access to a vehicle
