As a Network Tools and Monitoring Specialist, you’ll play a key role in delivering managed services and technical support across our government clients’ complex technology environments. This includes supporting network automation and monitoring platforms, ensuring high availability, and working collaboratively with internal teams and vendors. Your work will directly contribute to the stability, security, and performance of mission-critical systems. This role follows ITIL practices and requires technical depth in Linux, AD/DNS/DHCP, Splunk, and CCNA-level networking, while offering room to grow and gain exposure to emerging tools and technologies.
Your Day-to-Day
- Monitor, maintain and support our clients’ critical network and security toolsets and platforms
- Provide triage, incident management and access control within an ITIL-based environment
- Support change control, release management and process improvement
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure service delivery outcomes
- Act as an escalation point for more complex incidents or troubleshooting
- Support security engineering activities including vulnerability assessments and SIEM platforms (e.g. Splunk)
- Work standard business hours (Mon–Fri, 38-hour week) with a hybrid arrangement: 3 days in office, 2 from home
- Participate in after-hours work for planned changes, with on-call/call-out and overtime opportunities
- Experience in systems/network administration (Linux, AD, DNS, DHCP)
- Networking knowledge with CCNA certification or above
- Familiarity with security operations and tools (e.g. Splunk, SIEM, vulnerability management)
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to work calmly under pressure
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
- A passion for learning and a willingness to contribute to continuous service improvement
- Australian Citizenship and ability to obtain NV1 security clearance
