Parkerville Children and Youth Care (PCYC) is seeking an experienced and proactive People & Culture Business Partner to join our dedicated team. This is a dynamic, generalist role that plays a key part in supporting our people, strengthening our workforce capability, and ensuring our HR practices are aligned with our purpose: to support children, young people and families to thrive.
As a trusted advisor to leaders across the organisation, you will deliver high-quality support across the full employee lifecycle – from workforce planning and recruitment through to employee relations, change management, and HR systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide end-to-end generalist HR support across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and exit processes.
- Partner with leaders to deliver people-focused advice and solutions that support team performance, engagement, and development.
- Contribute to organisational workforce planning, identifying future talent and capability needs.
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations matters using respectful, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed approaches.
- Oversee compliance with employment legislation, modern awards, and internal policy, including maintaining accurate records and managing HRIS data (Employment Hero).
- Lead or contribute to key P&C projects that drive continuous improvement, innovation, and cultural alignment.
- Support the implementation of change management processes that enable positive transformation and build resilience across the workforce.
About You
You are a values-driven HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, purpose-led environment. You are highly organised, adaptable, and confident in managing a wide range of P&C matters, with strong emotional intelligence and a collaborative working style.
You will bring:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a generalist HR or business partnering role.
- Proven experience advising on complex employee relations matters and supporting people leaders through performance, conduct, and workforce transitions.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation, with the ability to apply this in a community-based or not-for-profit setting.
- Excellent interpersonal, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
- Strong business acumen, problem-solving capability, and data literacy.
- Desirable: Experience working with Employment Hero, knowledge of trauma-informed and culturally safe practice, and experience working under modern awards.
