About the role
We’re seeking a dynamic Procurement Specialist to join our Finance/Commercial team based in Sydney . This role is pivotal in delivering expert procurement support across Evolution Mining’s operations, ensuring value-for-money outcomes that are safe, timely, and commercially robust.
As a key member of the Group Supply Team, you’ll lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives—from developing the category strategy right through to contract management we strive to deliver value for our stakeholders. You’ll work closely with partners across the bu siness to understand operational needs, develop strategic sourcing approaches, and foster strong supplier relationships that drive performance and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Build strong relationships with stakeholders to understand business needs, risks, and expectations for informed procurement planning.
Develop and implement sourcing strategies tailored to the value and importance of goods and services being procured.
Prepare category spend profiles, lead market testing, conduct tenders, and manage briefings, scoring, recommendations, and negotiations.
Deliver presentations and briefings to suppliers, including participation in the annual supplier forum to enhance performance and establish new arrangements.
Manage contract development and implementation, resolve issues, monitor compliance, and oversee variations to ensure effective supplier relationships.
Provide governance support and guidance on procurement matters to promote best practices across the business.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract registers and procurement activity reports to meet organizational requirements.

About you
You’re a proactive and commercially minded procurement professional who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments. You bring a strong understanding of sourcing strategies, contract management, and supplier engagement—ideally gained in the mining, construction, or heavy industry sectors.
You’re not afraid to get your hands dirty—figuratively and literally. You understand that procurement isn’t always neat and tidy, and you’re comfortable navigating ambiguity, w orking with site-based stake holders, and delivering value in challenging conditions. You’re a natural relationship builder who can rebuild trust, influence outcomes, and drive performance through collaboration and strategic thinking.
You’ll also bring:
Experience managing end-to-end procurement processes, including tenders, negotiations, and contract implementation
A self-starting attitude with the ability to work independently and take ownership of your portfolio
Strong stakeholder engagement skills and a track record of building effective internal and external relationships
A commercial mindset with a focus on d elivering stakeholder value.
A degree in a relevant field (e.g. business, commerce, supply chain) is preferred but not essential
