The Pursuit & Bids Manager oversees the pursuit and bid support needs in a specific State /Country. The pursuits and bids team provides professional support for Arup’s work winning activities in the development and management of pursuits and bids. It is part of the wider Marketing and Communications, Business Development (MCBD) team spanning Australia and New Zealand (ANZ Geography).


You will be responsible for coordinating and inputting to pursuits, developing bids with proposal teams, and supporting other client-specific BD related activities. This will require you to have, or gain, an understanding of our firm, our industry and markets, our services and our people. This role is a 12-month fixed term contract.


The Opportunity

  • Lead and manage bids across the designated state/country, ensuring alignment with strategy.
  • Proactively manage multiple specific tender processes of varying scale and complexity, including bid scheduling, compliance, and document production, having full accountability for bid coordination to achieve sophisticated, consistent and highly focused bids and offers.
  • Support business development decisions and analyse bid performance metrics.
  • Guide win strategies, collaborate with teams, and support client-facing activities, contribute to the development of improvements to bidding process and success rates.
  • Mentor team members, support talent development, and drive process improvements.


Is this role right for you?

  • Proven track record in bidding, including scheduling and production with at least 8 years of experience
  • Strong proofing and content development skills.
  • Excellent internal influencing and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Dynamics CRM (desirable).
  • Ability to remain positively motivated under significant pressure.
