Take Your Passion for Aviation Safety to New Heights!

Are you a safety champion with an eye for detail and a passion for keeping aviation operations at their absolute best? If ensuring top-notch quality and safety in aviation gets you excited, then we have the perfect role for you!

We’re on the lookout for a Quality & Safety Manager to take the lead in overseeing and improving quality and safety systems within our Australian AMO—based at our headquarters in Mareeba. You’ll be at the heart of ensuring our operations run smoothly, safely, and in compliance with industry standards, all while making a real impact in communities that need it most.

Who Are We?

We are MAF—a Christian organisation that has been using aviation and technology to bring help, hope, and healing to some of the world’s most isolated communities since 1945. Operating in 31 countries with a fleet of 117 aircraft, we provide lifesaving transport for medical personnel, aid workers, and development teams. We also deliver Bibles, church resources, and essential supplies to remote communities, ensuring no place is too far to be reached.

What We’re Looking For

We need an experienced Quality & Safety Manager who’s ready to take the lead, ensuring our operations meet the highest safety standards while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. If you’re someone who loves developing safety strategies, implementing quality control, and making a real difference in aviation, then this is your chance to be part of something truly meaningful.

**NOTE: Applicants must be willing to gain or have the current legal right to work in Australia. Successful applicants will be subject to pre-employment background checks including a National Criminal History check. Acceptance of and adherence to MAF’s purpose, vision and values is an essential condition of employment.**

Responsibilities

As our Quality & Safety Manager, you’ll be the guardian of excellence, ensuring our Quality and Safety Management Systems run like a well-oiled machine within our Aircraft Maintenance Organisation (AMO). You’ll get to develop, implement, and refine quality and safety policies, keeping us aligned with industry best practices and regulations.

This is your chance to bring your attention to detail, aviation expertise, and proactive mindset to a team that’s all about flying high while keeping safety first!

What You’ll Be Doing:

✅ Keep our quality and safety management systems running smoothly and ensure everyone is on board.
✅ Analyze data & trends to spot areas for improvement—because prevention is always better than cure!
✅ Ensure compliance with aviation regulations and industry standards—no shortcuts here!
✅ Be a safety champion by training, coaching, and educating staff on best practices.
✅ Conduct audits and inspections to identify potential risks before they become problems.
✅ Investigate quality and safety incidents, turning challenges into opportunities for growth.
✅ Work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement corrective actions.
✅ Keep our quality and safety manuals and procedures up to date—because excellence never stands still!
