Your role
As Quality and Development Coordinator, you will be responsible for the provision of service excellence through the development and support of our caregivers in line with best practice principals and compliance with regulations and quality processes. This role offers a diverse range of responsibilities, combining leadership, providing learning and development, as well as quality and risk management.
The Position
- Participate in the introduction and review of policies and procedures.
- Ensure regular education programs focus on issues relevant to the organisation’s clinical profile, identified clinical risks and service development plans.
- Participates and attends meetings as required.
- Ensures that relationships with all caregivers are conducive to harmonious working relationships and pro-active problem solving.
- Identify internal and external partnership and business opportunities to enhance the Quality and Developmental services of the health service.
- Act as a resource and advisor to the Divisional Management Committee and to Department Managers on quality and development issues.
- Participate in, contribute to and implement quality improvement and risk management into all aspects of service
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous quality improvement through adherence to the Quality Cycle and Framework.
- Contribute to the promotion of research based clinical practices (according to professional background).
- Work collaboratively with the Divisional Management committee and the quality committee to proactively manage Quality Activities and Risk Frameworks.
- Ensures that SJOG is complying with regulations and best practice principles and assist managers to prepare for accreditation and other regulatory inspections.
- Lead projects to achieve goals and objectives of both SJOG and the broader Group.
- Provide support to the Infection Control Service.
- In conjunction with Departmental Managers and relevant key stakeholders, identified individual, local and organisation wide education needs through training needs analysis processes. These align with strategic and operational planning, risk management strategy and organisational and local policy.
You will hold highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to relate to staff in a sensitive and professional manner. You will have knowledge of current evidence-based nursing practices to uphold total quality patient care with proven leadership, team building and demonstrated organisational abilities to work efficiently when unsupervised.
To succeed you will have possession of a tertiary qualification in a relevant health related discipline and registration with the associated professional body with five years post graduate clinical experience, minimal twelve months previous teaching experience with understanding of Adult learning principles. Experience in the management of resources and coordination of department education activities with an understanding of, and commitment to, quality improvement will be required.
You will hold or be working towards a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment with working knowledge of Learning Management Systems, blended learning strategies. Experience in accreditation through the National Standards and a range of Microsoft office packages will be essential for the role.

- Salary: $124,196 to $137,946, plus 12% superannuation
- A permanent full-time position, working 38 hours per week
