- Full time, Fixed term until April 2026
- Attractive VPS 3 salary between $79,122 - $96,073 + superannuation
What does the business unit do?
Emergency Management Victoria (EMV) leads emergency management in Victoria by working with government, agencies and business to strengthen their capacity to withstand, plan for, respond to and recover from emergencies. EMV is a statutory entity and is part of the Department of Justice and Community Safety.
Operations
The purpose of the Operations directorate is to lead the emergency operational coordination and state operations in Victoria by working with communities, government, agencies and business to strengthen their capacity to withstand, plan for, respond to and recover from emergencies.
The role works on a 24/7 rostered basis. The incumbent will be required to regularly work outside normal business hours and on weekends.
What will the role do?
Assist the operations of the State Control Centre and ensures the EMC, EMV Staff, agency staff, and liaison officers are supported in the undertaking of their rostered duties.
Key tasks include:
- Support the implementation of the SCC operational business systems and processes
- Ensure the effective agency communication flows to internal and external stakeholders. This involves extensive use of phone, SMS, email, internet and agency applications as appropriate
- Provide SCC administrative support to ensure the operational functions of the SCC are in accordance with requirements and are delivered in an efficient and effective manner.
- Arrange, prepare and assist in the delivery of briefings, reports, meetings and presentations including visual and electronic displays to a wide range of stakeholders
- Maintain effective record keeping in accordance with each agency's procedures and legislative requirements

What skills and knowledge should a SCC Operations Support Officer have?
As our ideal candidate, you will have:
- Knowledge of Victoria's emergency management arrangements is desirable;
- Understanding of the State's Command and Control arrangements that operate within Victoria is desirable;
- Experience with coordination within emergency management activities is desirable
