As a Senior Legal Counsel on the ANZ Legal Team, you will be managing all legal aspects related to the company's corporate debt and finance activities with the guidance and support of the General Counsel, ANZ.
Interesting problems you will work on
- Debt Financing Transactions: Lead and advise on a broad range of corporate debt financing transactions, including syndicated loans, bilateral facilities, bonds, and other debt instruments. This includes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating facility agreements, security documents, intercreditor agreements, and related legal documentation.
- Corporate Finance Matters: Provide expert legal counsel on various corporate finance initiatives, such as capital raising, treasury operations, cash management, and financial risk management strategies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial services laws, regulations, and industry standards related to corporate debt and finance in Australia and other applicable jurisdictions. Stay abreast of legislative changes and advise on their impact.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner closely with our Treasury, Finance, and other internal departments to provide timely, practical, and commercially astute legal advice, helping to achieve business objectives while mitigating legal risks.
What you'll bring to the team
- 10 or more years of prior legal experience from a top-tier law firm and/or in-house counsel position
- experience in reviewing, drafting, negotiating and reviewing facility agreements, security documents, intercreditor agreements, and related legal documentation.
- experience/familiarity with fintech, consumer finance and regulatory laws/regimes in AU (and New Zealand is a plus).
- strong internal and external client interfacing skills.
- ability to work autonomously and prioritize a workload in a fast-paced culture while delivering sound legal advice.
- a can do attitude and solutions to the table
