Position Title: Service Technician

About the Role
Drivetrain currently has an exciting opportunity in our Mt Isa facility for a driven and experienced Service Technician to join the team on a full-time basis. This role is required to provide excellence in service support for Drivetrain’s customer base. At the same time, being responsive to the needs of customers and complete service responsibilities with requisite care, skill, diligence and knowledge.
This role will report to the Branch Supervisor and collaborates closely with the workshop team.
Key Responsibilities of this role include:
- Overhaul of transmissions, torque converters, axles, differentials and brakes.
- Service and maintain diesel engines.
- Diagnose and repair faults in hydraulic circuits and low voltage electrical circuits on machinery.
- Report writing and recording of quality control measurements.
- Overhaul, maintain, repair, test, calibrate and commission mechanical equipment and systems to conform to specifications, regulations and safety requirements.
- Assist in carrying out work in punctual, efficient and timely manner.
- Assist both mechanical and electrical tradesperson as required to achieve company objectives as defined by the Branch Supervisor.
- Proactively maintain an efficient and safe workshop/ workstation/ site layout and associated work processes.
About You
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Capable of working independently and effectively.
- Experienced Diesel Mechanic / Fitters / LV Mechanic in the service and maintenance of heavy diesel products, mining equipment, power generation on engines and drivelines.
- Trade Qualified.
- Having an engaging work approach and customer service focus.
- Can work autonomously.
- Solid diagnostic capabilities.
- A mature attitude and logical and methodical approach to your work.
- Great work ethic and team player.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experiences:
- High Risk Work License – Dogging and Forklift.
- Working knowledge of parts and service systems (SAP).
