Position summary
Join our team as a Site Quantity Surveyor, where you'll play a pivotal role in managing and optimising project costs on large-scale mining and resources projects. This 12-month contract offers a dynamic 2:1 roster, with 11-hour paid days. Your expertise will be crucial in performing quantity take-offs, assessing contractor claims, and measuring project progress. You'll be responsible for the quantification and costing of current and future construction work, preparing bills of quantities, and negotiating contract claims. Reporting directly to the Site Services Manager and liaising with the Project Controls Manager, you'll ensure seamless project execution. About the role
- Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities for current and future construction work.
- Assess contractor claims and measure progress to ensure project objectives are met.
- Prepare, negotiate, and close out contract claims in collaboration with the project team.
- Report to the Site Services Manager on-site and maintain a dotted line to the Project Controls Manager in Perth.
- Work on large mining and resources projects, focusing on execution and cost management.
- Utilize SAP, CMS, and Primavera for project management and reporting tasks.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure effective communication and problem-solving.
About you
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in quantity take-offs and preparing bills of quantities.
- Proven track record of working on large mining and resources projects, particularly in execution phases.
- Strong background in cost management and contract administration, including assessment of contractor claims and progress measurement.
- Proficiency in using SAP, CMS, and Primavera software for project management and control.
- Demonstrated experience in the preparation, negotiation, and close-out of contract claims.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
- Strong negotiation skills and effective communication abilities to liaise with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and report to multiple managers.
- Willingness to work on a 2:1 roster with 11-hour paid days.
