Carey Baptist College is seeking an experienced and passionate Sports Coordinator to oversee, facilitate, and optimise student learning and engagement in extracurricular sport.
Commencing January 2026, this is a full-time ongoing appointment with a 0.2 administrative allowance. The role is ideal for a teacher with a love of sport, strong organisational capacity, and the ability to inspire both staff and students in a thriving co-curricular environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement interschool sporting opportunities (Years 7–12), including SASJ and Senior Sporting teams.
Manage Carey’s commitment to the ACC Sporting Association, including interschool carnivals (swimming, cross country, athletics).
Lead the recruitment and coordination of contracted sports tutors, umpires, and coaches.
Oversee team selection, training, and uniform/kit standards.
Facilitate the Senior Sport & Recreation program for Year 11 and 12 students.
Support the growth of specialist sporting programs in Basketball, Soccer and Netball.
Represent Carey at ACC Sports Coordinators meetings.
Work closely with the HPE team on budgeting, purchasing, asset management, and policy development.
Promote Carey Sport through communication with families, newsletters, and marketing opportunities.
Ensure all teams represent Carey with excellence, values, and good sportsmanship.
About You
You’ll be a teacher who:
Lives out a genuine Christian faith (including a pastor’s reference).
Demonstrates a strong record as an exemplary teacher.
Is passionate about sport and committed to going the extra mile for students.
Brings strong leadership, team-building, and organisational capacity.
Holds a current MR bus licence and PTD Authorisation (or is willing to obtain).
