The Opportunity:

  • Full-Time | Ongoing contract of employment
  • PW4 $66,921 - $72,661 per annum pro rata + 12% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience)
  • Chadstone Campus – onsite parking with close proximity to public transport


The Student Engagement and Equity Department at Holmesglen is dedicated to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and collaborative educational environment where every student feels valued. The Student Life Officer plays a vital role in shaping an engaging and supportive student experience. In this role, you’ll bring campus life to life by planning and coordinating exciting events and activities, championing student voices, and leading meaningful initiatives that make a real difference. Working closely with student organisations, you’ll create opportunities for connection, leadership, and personal growth, helping students to thrive both personally and academically. At its heart, this role is about inspiring a vibrant, inclusive community and ensuring every student enjoys a rewarding, memorable, and empowering journey throughout their time at the Institute.

As a Student Life Officer, you will:

  • Supporting students by directing those with personal, academic, or social challenges, to the right resources.
  • Plan, organise and run events/trip, activities, and programs that assist students connect and enjoy their time on campus.
  • Advocating for students by representing student needs and concerns to the institution, making sure their voices are heard.
  • Contribute building community to create an inclusive and welcoming environment where all students feel connected and supported.
  • Collaborating with staff, faculty, and student organisations to improve the student experience.


To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Degree qualification in a field relevant to student support and engagement or qualifications in events management, communications or administration. Lesser qualifications may be accepted subject to significant relevant work experience
  • A full current driver’s licence.
  • A demonstrated commitment to student engagement and partnership, with the ability to design, implement, and evaluate programs that support diverse student needs and foster student representation.
  • Project management skills, including the capacity to engage and motivate a wide range of stakeholders, coordinate activities, and achieve objectives efficiently.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the challenges throughout the student lifecycle, particularly supporting diverse learners and promoting inclusive, culturally sensitive engagement.
  • Organisational and time management abilities, with proven experience managing multiple concurrent tasks and meeting deadlines in dynamic environments.
  • WWCC and Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.
