We are seeking an organized and efficient Student Services Manager to join our team in Parramatta, Australia. This is a maternity leave replacement role on a fixed-term contract for 7 months. The successful candidate will be offered a contract aligned with the maternity leave period, with flexibility to adjust based on the confirmed return date.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating various student support services, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for our diverse student population. The Student Services Manager is responsible for leading the provision of high-quality student services and engagement, student administration, non-academic student support and tuition fee collection and debt management for continuing students.
- Efficiency of student administration procedures, implemented with minimal errors;
- High levels of student engagement in extra-curricular activities;
- High student satisfaction scores specifically related to the quality of campus facilities, student support, engagement and administration;
- Compliance against the Higher Education Standards Framework and National Code relating to this role; and
- Efficient management of related resources within the approved expense budget.
- Student engagement, including (but not limited to) social activities on campus, coordinating engagement activities with other WSU campuses, establishing community links;
- Student administration, ensuring processes are efficient and user friendly from a student perspective;
- Student Orientation;
- Student complaints;
- Student welfare;
- Campus facilities, including student common areas, staff areas and teaching spaces;
- College enrolment, with an emphasis on retention and student experience
- Student data collection, analysis and reporting (with the exception of academic performance metrics).
- The Student Services Team and Campus Facilities Budget (P&L Responsibility);
- Oversee the effective running of the Student Representative Council.
- Establish and maintain strong and effective relationships with key external stakeholders;
- Conduct and participate in processes that support the development of a culture that focuses on engagement and continuous improvement; and
- Maintain an active network across both the University and Navitas, and contribute to and gain from Communities of Practice and other sources of industry best practice
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience of leadership across student services in a higher education context;
- Demonstrated experience managing the Student Services Function, preferably within a higher education institution;
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across networks;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and initiate change;
- Demonstrated ability to work with changing priorities;
- Strong experience working with international students;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Experience within a regulated education environment.
Tertiary qualifications at the postgraduate level in a relevant discipline area.
