About the Role
As the Mine Haulage Superintendent, you will oversee the end-to-end delivery of safe, efficient, and cost-effective material movement for both development and production activities. You will lead a large, diverse team and collaborate across departments to ensure strategic alignment, performance optimisation, and continuous improvement within one of the mine’s most critical functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a large workforce and contractors with a focus on safety, performance, and team development. Build talent pipelines and ensure compliance with Newmont’s standards.
- Deliver haulage outcomes aligned with mine plans. Resolve operational challenges and act as delegate for the Manager Mining Operations when required.
- Drive Newmont’s Full Potential initiatives, lead improvement projects, and use data to identify and implement operational efficiencies.
- Manage costs, support business planning, and identify savings opportunities through effective budget control.
- Maintain high safety and environmental standards, ensure policy compliance, and lead risk management and incident investigations.
- Foster strong relationships across departments and with external partners to ensure alignment, compliance, and performance delivery.
- Extensive experience in underground mining, including a strong track record in operational leadership roles.
- Proven leadership capability in operational roles managing large, diverse teams in complex environments.
- Strong track record in strategic execution, performance optimisation, and continuous improvement.
- Experience managing contractor relationships and cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen.
- Deep understanding of underground safety systems and regulatory compliance.
- Exposure to large-scale or deep underground mining operations is highly regarded.

This role operates on a8:6 FIFO roster, with direct flights available from Darwin, Alice Springs, Brisbane, or Perth.
