About the Role
We have a great opportunity for a Support Services Team Leader to join our team reporting to the Support Services Manager. The position will oversee the delivery of a range of housekeeping, catering and environmental services and to provide a safe and quality oriented service to patients, staff, service providers and visitors of the hospital.
In addition to hands-on duties as a Team Leader working alongside team members, you will organise staff rosters and manage leave; efficiently allocate resources according to operational needs; ensure cleaning tasks and related environmental services daily activities are completed in accordance with WPH policies, procedures and schedules; assist with laundry/linen and waste services; provide support, direction & training to staff; ensure all equipment utilised on shifts is cleaned, restocked and stored in the appropriate storage areas; and the cleaning service provided meets all cleaning and safety requirements, policies, standards, licenses and legislation.
Selection Criteria
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in hospital cleaning and previous experience as a Team Leader overseeing Housekeeping / Cleaning / Catering/Environmental Services desirable.
- Strong leadership skills – able to give direction, motivate and train staff, and promote teamwork
- Effective written and verbal communication and great interpersonal skills
- Ability to meet the physical aspects of the position, e.g. lifting, pushing trolleys, mopping, etc
- Self-motivated and ‘hands-on’ approach to function effectively and be responsive in a busy, changing and demanding environment
- Demonstrated commitment to high customer service and quality improvement
- Flexibility to work across a rotating roster and to cover staff leave as required
- You will possess a good work ethic that includes punctuality, integrity, respect for others and a commitment to professional practice
- Broad knowledge of auditing and compliance with current cleaning/chemical safety/infection control standards for ACT health facilities
- Good computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook)
