SensesWA is a leading not-for-profit organisation empowering people with disabilities since 1895 in Western Australia. Our purpose is to build capacity by providing comprehensive services, specialising in sensory loss, positive behaviour support and children’s therapies.

We are currently seeking passionate and aspiring Support Workers to support our clients mainly Children and young age group to engage in new experiences, establish community connections, develop independent living skills and reach their personal goals.

At SensesWA, we focus on offering targeted training so we can seamlessly match a person with a disability with the right support worker.

Essential Criteria:

• Be comfortable working with a diverse range of ages, disabilities and behaviours;

• Have a genuine passion and commitment to making a difference to the lives of people with disability;

• Possess a high level of trust, honesty and integrity and be able to maintain a professional relationship with all participants;

• Be computer and mobile phone savvy in order to access work emails and web-based applications such as rosters, case notes and incident reports;

• Have a current ‘Provide First Aid’ certificate (or be willing to obtain before start date).

• Hold a current Working With Children check (or be willing to obtain before start date);

• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check; and

• Have a current Full Australian Driver’s License and a comprehensibly insured vehicle.

Desirable Criteria:

• An ability to provide personal care to people who need it, including support with Personal Hygiene including bowel care, dressing and hoisting;

• Willingness to undergo various related paid training as provided by the organisation;

• Certificate III or IV in Disability.
