Experienced Technical Draftsman Opportunity at Sal Fabrication & Welding Services
Are you passionate about working in both office and on-site environments? Sal Fabrication & Welding Services is seeking a skilled Technical Draftsman for a long-term role with permanency for the right candidate. This position involves travel to sites across South Western Sydney.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost projects accurately using drawings and client specifications.
- Order and procure materials required for drawings and projects.
- Utilize Monday software for job tracking and order procurement.
- Liaise with clients to confirm drawings and project specifications.
- Create accurate and detailed models, drawings, and documentation of assemblies.
- Read and interpret detailed mechanical, workshop drawings, and site plans.
- Ensure all drawings comply with Australian Standards, regulations, and company standards.
- Apply manufacturing knowledge to drafting works and identify product improvements.
- Communicate with team members to organize and order required materials.
- Coordinate with clients to schedule timely completion of works.
- Maintain organized records and documentation.
- Work safely, prioritizing the well-being of yourself and colleagues.
Skills and Experience
- 3–5 years’ experience as a qualified Draftsperson in a manufacturing or aligned industry
- Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD software (AutoCAD and SolidWorks preferred).
- Strong understanding of engineering processes and materials used in manufacturing.
- Ability to read and interpret detailed drawings and site plans.
- Competence in working independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently.
- Relevant qualification in drafting, engineering, or a related field.
- Full Australian Driver’s License required.
- Experience providing guidance on CAD software to colleagues.
- Work split: 30% on-site, 70% in Office.

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
