To provide effective medical services to patients under supervision, while developing expertise in medical practice, in a complex clinical environment is position is to enter the Integrated Training Program for Obstetrics and Gynaecology, approved by the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG). (Note, you must have also completed the online application form at the RANZCOG Website.)
Close and effective liaison with consultants will allow the doctor to demonstrate their level of ability and understanding of patient care and enable you to expand your areas of responsibility. All patients managed within the hospitals of the health service are under the direct care of a specialist medical practitioner. All decisions regarding their care are to be clearly communicated with the specialist responsible for that care.
This training program includes placements within NSW Health and placements external to NSW Health. Depending on the circumstances of your current employment (if applicable) and the placement locations you are allocated to during the program, there may be an impact on portability of leave entitlements and continuity of service for the purposes of parental leave eligibility. - Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role.
- Sufficient clinical experience in order to undertake the clinical duties for clinical rotations, and proficiency in basic and advanced life support.
- Advanced ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the planning, delivery and coordination of patient care.
- Advanced communication skills, including the ability to convey, and adapt verbal and written information to a clinical and non-clinical audience.
- Advanced good organisational and time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
- A high standard of academic achievement, clinical practice and performance as relevant to a trainee of RANZCOG appropriate progression through training goals.
- A commitment to the training program and the capacity to complete this program. This includes an ability take and administer on call and overtime as required.
