In this role you will:
Deliver firearms, tactical skills, and chemical agents training to instructors and existing and new custodial correctional officers.
Assist with design and implementation of instructional standards that deliver consistency of training across QCS with regards to all tactical skills programs.
Assist with the development and review of assessment activities that must be met by course participants to demonstrate competency in the tactical skills curriculum.
Review training and assessment procedures and processes and report findings to the Principal Advisor, Tactical Options for consideration
Evaluate all tactical skills training and assessment tools in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
Use information collated through an effective training evaluation process to contribute to the continuous improvement of tactical skills training curriculum and content.
Promote high standards for correctional centre based QCS instructors by providing training and professional development and support to centre based tactical skills, firearms & chemical agents instructors.
Evaluate and guide training delivered by centre based tactical skills instructors.
Liaise with correctional centre management to coordinate a training calendar for tactical skills programs that assist with ensuring the centre complies with all mandatory training requirements.
Ensure safety of course participants undergoing high risk training whilst complying with WH&S.
Assist with the review of injuries to staff during tactical skills training through the completion of system reports.
Store, transport and issue of weapons, ammunitions, and munitions in line with relevant legislation.
Conduct and report outcome of armoury audits as required.
