We have an exciting opportunity for a Trust Accounts Clerk to join our Finance team in Newcastle or Sydney.
About the team and the role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will work closely with the firm’s finance team, partners, secretaries, and other support services to administer and maintain the firm’s trust accounts.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Receipt all trust deposits and process all trust payments across 3 jurisdictions.
- Prepare all monthly reports and reconciliations.
- Co-ordinate opening and closure of controlled monies accounts.
- Ensure all legal obligations surrounding the trust accounts have been met.
- Maintain the signatory listing with banks.
- Distribute and file trust receipts and trust statements.
- Complete trust to office transfers and journals.
The team’s culture is collaborative, inclusive, and down-to-earth. This is a permanent full-time position offering some flexibility (hybrid work arrangements).
About you
- Ideally you will have 2+ years’ experience in a regulated trust accounts role. Law firm exposure is highly regarded but not essential.
- Highest level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong understanding of different trust rules.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
