We are looking to recruit an Unaccredited Registrar to join our Surgical team from September 2025. As the Registrar you will provide safe, effective surgical care to the patients of the Calvary Mater Newcastle under the supervision of a Staff Specialist.
- Maintain a high level of patient care and make clinical decisions in accordance with best quality patient care.
- Maintain accurate and proper medical records.
- Liaise with senior colleagues in matters of patient management.
- Use sound judgement and decision making processes such as time management and work flow prioritisation.
- Able to perform duties with minimal supervision, take initiative and contribute to the innovation and development of the Department.

- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia.
- At least two years’ experience post-graduation in an Australasian Hospital (or equivalent) as a Junior Medical Officer, including at least 6 months working in General Surgery teams
- Demonstrated effective teamwork, time management and problem solving skills as part of a multidisciplinary clinical care team
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgement and expertise.
