About the Role

As the Venue Support Officer you will be responsible for assisting in the procurement of venues for local and state election events, with particular focus on procuring voting centres and declared institutions. You will work in a small team and assist with various administrative tasks including responding to complaints, difficult customers, high volume phone and email enquiries, completing tasks in our Electronic Management System in a timely and efficient manner, and adhere to safety and EEO policies and standards. From time to time you will also work across teams in the Election Support unit to provide support and assistance on key election tasks.

This role would suit someone who is comfortable working in a small team, able to work under pressure, able to deal with complex enquiries and stakeholders, and is flexible.

The role is temporary full-time position available until 30 June 2027.

Key knowledge, experience and essential requirements

As the successful candidate, you will have:

  • Previous client services experience in providing a first level response to public enquiries in a high-volume environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills and experience in one or more applications, i.e. Microsoft Office Suite, Content Manager (records management), other corporate systems and database applications.
  • Previous experience working in project or event-based organisation.
  • Politically neutral with no affiliation to political parties or lobbyists/campaigners.
  • Satisfactory criminal record check result.

This role is based in at our Elizabeth Street, Sydney office with a hybrid work arrangement.
