Job Description
In summary, the Vintage Cellar Team Member is responsible for carrying out allocated tasks to ensure efficient and safe operation of the winery production facility and other duties as directed by the Cellar Supervisor.
On a day to day basis perform duties for which they have received appropriate and adequate training and instruction. Duties may be performed in all areas of the winery including;
- Crusher operation
- Press operation
- General cellar including additions, tuffing, transfers
- Receive and make handover instructions from/with other shift supervisors
- Clarification including Centrifuge/RDV and Cross flow filtration operations
- Jetting and working in wet areas
- Maintain Good housekeeping practices, cleaning and other duties as required
- Entering and Working in Confined Spaces
- Working at heights which includes regular access to and climbing of stairs and catwalks
- Handling dangerous and hazardous substances (caustics, acids, sulphur dioxide)

Essential
- Self-motivated and able to maintain an effective and consistent level of activity under demanding conditions over long hours
- Excellent work ethic and positive attitude
- Mechanical Aptitude
- Ability to quickly and effectively acquire new skills
- Basic computer literacy and confidence with automation and electronics
Desirable
- Experience in the Wine Industry, 1+ years cellar experience
- Certificate III in Wine Operations
- Conversant in most cellar procedures and machine operation
- An understanding of quality assurance and procedures
- Experience in a Food Handling / HACCP Environment
- Forklift licence
- Working At Heights
- Enter and Work in Confined Spaces
- Construction Induction Card
- ChemCert or Chemical Handling experience
