The Opportunity
As the WHS Advisor you will provide expert advice, service, and advocacy in matters relating to WHS, RTW, and workers' compensation (WC). Working in collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders, you will proactively manage Carrington’s safety culture and ongoing risks, ensuring our environments are safe, and efficiently meet all relevant regulatory requirements. This full-time onsite role is an exciting opportunity to make a difference to our growing community of 700+ employees .
Responsibilities:
- Promoting a safe work culture through advice, consultation, education and stakeholder empowerment, to collaboratively manage hazards and risks.
- Investigating incidents promptly, completing all associated documentation, and ensuring corrective/preventative actions are completed.
- Developing and reviewing WHS policies, procedures, and forms, and developing and managing Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), ensuring they are up-to-date, accurate, and reflect best practices.
- Case-managing injured staff throughout the RTW process, in collaboration with our third-party providers.
- Providing timely data and insights on RTW progress, WHS indicators, plans, and outcomes to the Executive Management Team and other relevant stakeholders. Chairing WHS Committee meetings, ensuring agendas, minutes, and action items are produced and completed.
About you
Essential:
- 3+ years’ experience in Work Health and Safety and/or Return to Work coordination
- Demonstrated familiarity with risk management, policy development and auditing.
- Detailed understanding of relevant Work Health and Safety legislation, regulations, and best-practice.
- Demonstrated ability to research and report on changing WHS regulations, standards, and best practice.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver WHS projects and foster a positive and proactive safety culture.
- Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work collaboratively within time constraints.
- Functional MS Office suite skills.
Desirable:
- Current or progressing towards WHS related qualification. Completed accredited Return to Work Coordinator Training within the last 3 years.
