Your role at St John of God Social Outreach
We are seeking applications for a Youth Worker to join our Youth, Mother & Baby Program at Dianella WA, on a permanent part-time basis.
The purpose of this position is to provide a high standard of care to the residents of the St John of God Horizon House by empowering the young people to move to a position of autonomy and self-fulfilment by assisting them to achieve their goals.
You will encourage and facilitate the involvement of the residents in education, training and personal development programs.
The Position
- Build strong, trusting relationships with young people, placing their interests and well-being at the forefront of all interactions.
- Provide safe and stable long term accommodation to a young people who are at risk of being homelessness, creating an environment that promotes growth and development
- Offer outreach, strengths based and practical support to meet the continuum of care arrangements for young people with complex needs.
- Assist young people in realising their aspirations and potential, through participating in education, training, and employment services.
- Assist in case management and planning for young people
- Support young people in developing independent living skills
You will have an understanding of the special needs of adolescents and trauma-informed care, together with recent experience working with at-risk young people, extensive experience in an area related to youth work and knowledge of the Privacy Legislation and Occupational, Health & Safety Act Regulations.
Successful applicants will hold a Certificate IV in Youth Work or similar, State’s Drivers Licence, First Aid Certificate and Working with Children Card.

We can offer you
- Salary: $76,621 to $82,169 (pro rata for part time) plus 12% Superannuation
- Permanent part-time, working 26 hours per week
