Communications Advisor

Swinburne University of Technology - Melbourne VIC

As a Communications Advisor you are responsible for creating engaging, purposeful multimedia content and communications for the university’s staff, students and external audiences.

Reporting to the Deputy Director, Communications and Media, you will be involved in developing and producing high quality strategic communications across a range of platforms, and for ensuring they reach target audiences.

Your ability to build strong collaborative relationships with professional and academic colleagues, as well as with external stakeholders and the media, will see you contribute to achieving our shared vision for Swinburne as a world-class university creating social and economic impact through science, technology and innovation.

About you
To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Completed a tertiary degree with substantial relevant experience in internal communications, PR, media or a related field; or have an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Demonstrated experience in producing high quality, rich media content for a range of channels
  • Excellent communications skills and an ability to work under time pressure to produce high quality communications materials
  • Proficiency in producing videos and of creating content for internal audience is particularly desireable
