Account Officer

Salary Range: AUD 80,000 - 90,000
About the role
Fulton Market Group is seeking an experienced Finance Officer to join our dynamic team in our Sydney office. This full-time position will be responsible for providing comprehensive financial support and reporting to the Finance department. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial records and processes.
What you'll be doing
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
- Take ownership of accounts receivable processes, including issuing customer invoices, reconciling incoming payments, and following up on outstanding balances
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes
- Assist with tax-related activities, including preparing BAS, GST, payroll tax and FBT filings, and ensuring compliance with relevant tax obligations
- Perform data analysis and provide insights to support decision-making
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial information and support
- Participate in special projects and ad-hoc tasks as required
What we're looking for
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting or a related field
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, processes, and reporting
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in using financial software and spreadsheet applications (NetSuite is a plus)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
