Primary objective
The position provides school office administration and financial support to the Business Manager and Principal.

Howard Springs School is a rural school twenty minutes from Darwin. We have a strong commitment to community and are

team effort and key to our planning and support of student needs.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Perform general office duties including reception, word processing, data entry, photocopying and maintaining
consumable supplies with a high attention to detail.
2. Responsible for the receipting of incoming monies using Technology One-Ci Anywhere and MYOB.
3. Responsible for preparation for all school banking, including input data using Technology One-Ci Anywhere and front
office MYOB Receipting System.
4. Maintain and manage Accounts Payable and Purchasing.
5. Prepare fortnightly payroll for School Council employees and assist in the preparation of employment contracts
6. Management of staff, volunteers and contractors registers i.e. Ochre card and first aid.
7. Administer first Aid and attend to sick children as necessary.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated ability in the use and understanding of financial management computer packages (e.g. Technology One-
Ci Anywhere and MYOB)
2. Demonstrated ability in financial processes including payroll, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, grant acquittals and
cash handling.
3. Demonstrated ability to use computer applications including, Microsoft Office packages and Database Systems
4. High level written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills including the ability to negotiate and exercise
initiative, discretion and confidentiality, also to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures and work well with
a wide range of people with tact and discretion.
5. Proven ability to work in an environment of continuous change with the attributes of flexibility and adaptability while
maintaining high standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
Desirable
1. Experience using Technology One-Ci Anywhere finance system and SAMS student Database system.
