Our Housing Services team plays a critical role in helping individuals and families access and sustain affordable housing, and we’re looking for an experienced and organised Administration Support Officer to help keep things running smoothly.
About the Role
As the Administration Support Officer, you’ll provide vital day-to-day administrative support to our Housing Program. This is a varied role that combines reception, property administration, financial processing, data entry and client liaison. Your attention to detail, organisation, and ability to multitask will ensure we deliver efficient, high-quality services to tenants and stakeholders alike.
You’ll be part of a passionate and collaborative team that works closely with internal departments and external partners, including community housing organisations, contractors, and the South Australian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
Key Responsibilities
- Support rental operations including rent calculations, arrears management, and rent reviews
- Liaise with tenants, contractors, and support services to ensure effective communication
- Issue notices under tenancy legislation and support compliance with policies
- Prepare documentation and represent UnitingSA at SACAT hearings
- Manage invoices, end-of-month financial processes, and data reporting
- Maintain accurate tenant records and ensure high standards of confidentiality
- Support service coordination and attend housing forums as required
What You’ll Bring
Qualifications & Compliance Requirements:
- A Certificate III in Business Administration or a related discipline (or equivalent experience in a similar role)
- Current DHS Working with Children Check (essential)
- Current DHS NDIS Worker Screening Check (essential)
- Current National Police Clearance (essential)
Experience:
- Previous experience in office administration, accounts, or property management
- Experience in triaging tenant maintenance requests and scheduling works (desirable)
- Previous exposure to or understanding of the community housing sector (highly desirable)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel
- Experience working with different operating systems and databases
Skills & Attributes:
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritise work effectively
- Confident communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused approach
