About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join us as part of at our Vickery Open Cut mine.
Reporting to the Superintendent – Health, Safety & Training, you will support the Vickery Open Cut mine with promoting a positive health & safety culture by providing support, advice, coaching, and assisting in developing and coordinating the implementation of Whitehaven Coals Health & Safety strategies.
What You’ll Do
- Assist in the development and implementation of internal health and safety strategies, plans and policies
- Facilitate and/or participate in incident investigations, risk assessments and management of change processes
- Monitor the sites emergency preparedness and response equipment and capabilities
- Support and participate in site WHS Committee meetings, pre-start and toolbox meetings
- Monitor compliance and provide on-going support to Operations, Contractors and Corporate Teams.
- Knowledge of NSW WH&S Legislation and statutory requirements
- Experience with Onsite & SharePoint or similar systems
- Genuine passion to live by the Whitehaven STRIVE Values and contribute to a collaborative organisational culture.
- Experience in the Mining industry
