About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated AOD Peer Support Worker Lead to champion peer values, provide guidance and mentoring to an AOD peer workforce, and help shape a culture of recovery and lived experience leadership within our AOD service.


You will:

  • Provide supervision and day-to-day support to a small team of AOD Peer Support Workers
  • Support onboarding, training and ongoing development of peer staff
  • Provide direct client support, offering individual and group peer support grounded in hope, respect and empowerment
  • Advocate for peer perspectives across the service
  • Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure integrated, person-centred care

About You

You will bring:

  • Lived experience of AOD recovery and a strong understanding of peer support principles
  • Relevant qualifications in peer support and experience working or volunteering in an AOD or mental health setting
  • Leadership, coaching or mentoring experience (formal or informal)
  • A commitment to trauma-informed, culturally safe and non-judgmental practice
  • Strong communication, boundary-setting and teamwork skills
  • The ability to navigate systems and advocate effectively for peer-informed practice
