QinetiQ’s IT organisation is evolving to provide the advanced technology and IT services that underpin QinetiQ’s future global strategy and ambitions. We are now accepting applications for an energetic Applications Support Officer , with a can do attitude, to join QinetiQ’s IT family with flexibility to be based in either Adelaide, Canberra, Melbourne or Nowra.

Reporting to the Business Applications Manager the Applications Support Officer will have a focus on providing frontline technical support for QinetiQ’s key business applications, tools and information systems.

Where capable, the Applications Support Officer will also help to develop creative and innovative solutions as QinetiQ’s business needs and will have the opportunity to participate and work on larger IT business projects

The Applications Support Officer will be accountable for:
Assist in managing the integrity and smooth operation of QinetiQ’s core business applications and information systems;
Install, configure, support and maintain corporate and enterprise wide tool and business application systems;

Undertake day-to-day administrative duties, such as:
Account management;
Client setup, configuration and support;
Security and Application patching; and
Maintenance of IT system registers for the management of IT systems and information assets.

Troubleshoot and resolve assigned incidents or service requests whilst ensuring prompt professional service;

To be successful in the role of Applications Support Officer you will need to bring with you:

Experience in a similar applications or IT support role;
Strong focus, and commitment to customer service;

Working knowledge of technologies, such as:
Microsoft Active Directory;
Sharepoint;
Database technologies, such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, etc.;
ITSM systems and tools, such as ServiceNow, Ivanti, Jira, etc.;
Atlassian Confluence & Jira; and
Proficient in the use Microsoft Office Suite.

Broad knowledge of business tools, applications and technologies associated with common business functions including areas of Finance, HR, IT, Engineering, etc.
Excellent problem solving skills;

Whilst not essential, a tertiary qualification would be advantageous.

Candidates will need to be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
