The Role
The duties of an APS 4 Information and Records Management Officer occupation in Defence include the following (note: not all duties are required to be performed during a 12 month performance cycle):
- Perform information and records management activities in accordance with relevant legislative and Defence policies and procedures.
- Maintain security classified information material in accordance with Defence requirements.
- Understand and implement information and records management policies and procedures to physical and electronic records.
- Research governance requirements and maintain currency and integrity of information and record management systems.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively and operate as an effective team member.
- Interpret and comply with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks.
- Seek advice and guidance on more complex issues.
- Coordinate and when required supervise the work of others undertaking a range of information and records management activities and tasks.
About our Team
The Smart Buyer (SB) and Independent Assurance Reviews (IAR) Directorates are part of the Independent Project and Portfolio Management Office, within the Strategy, Planning and Independent Assurance Division of the Capability Acquisition & Sustainment Group (CASG). Both Directorates play a critical role in facilitating project strategy development to Defence projects/products.
The Smart Buyer Operations’ key role is coordinating a series of mandated, complex workshops prior to key Committee decision points. The Independent Assurance Review (IAR) Directorate undertakes assessments of major capital acquisition projects and sustainment products prior to key project milestones. The reviews provide high quality and reliable advice to the Defence Senior Leadership Group and Government regarding the status of these Projects and Products.
