About our Team
Humans Performance and Safety (HPS) is committed to strengthening safety assurance and optimising human performance in the Air Force through a data-driven, risk-based approach. By leveraging safety data intelligence, HPS enhances operational readiness, survivability, and decision-making capability across all levels of command.

Through its Assurance and Due Diligence (A&DD) stream, HPS delivers comprehensive data analysis and communicates insights across the organisation—from senior leaders to frontline personnel. This ensures informed, risk-aware decisions that support a high-performance, safety-focused culture.

HPS uses data to evaluate to provide organisational assurance, identifying areas of success and those requiring remediation. These insights are central to sustaining situational awareness and guiding improvements in policy. Looking ahead, HPS is evolving its safety systems and assurance frameworks to support a future-ready Air Force—agile, integrated, and capable of maintaining long-term aviator performance and survivability.

Our Ideal Candidate
The APS 6 Work Health and Safety Officer at HPS is a specialist role focused on transforming safety-related data into actionable insights that drive improved health and safety outcomes across the organisation. The successful candidate will work closely with WHS operational, and Air Force risk specialist teams to support strategic decision-making, enhance reporting frameworks, and develop predictive models or dashboards that proactively address risk. A passion for data-driven safety improvement, combined with a solid understanding of WHS principles, is essential.
