The Contracts and Procurement Team works closely with the Mint’s Legal and Finance teams to support the broader business in delivering a wide range of procurement activities. The team provides professional high-quality procurement and contract management support and advice to all business areas of the Mint to enable them to deliver their respective projects, programs and activities, in line with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs), Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act) and related policies and guidance.
As the Assistant Director, Contracts and Procurement you will be required to demonstrate leadership and assist a variety of stakeholders across the Mint to achieve their procurement outcomes while also contributing to business improvement.
The duties of this position include:
1. Coordinating the administrative activities undertaken to support day-to-day contract activities, meeting legislative requirements for records management and audit requirements.
2. Working closely with Mint business areas to understand their procurement needs and developing strategies to meet those needs.
3. Collaborating with business areas to create comprehensive market approach documentation, assisting in conducting market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers.
4. Working with cross-functional teams to assist in evaluation, and to coordinate contract negotiation and execution.
5. Leading and mentoring a small contract and procurement team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
Security clearance
This position requires a Baseline security clearance. The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
