ABOUT THE ROLE
The Billing and Tariff Specialist ensures accurate billing and effective tariff management,
supporting Jacana Energy’s commitment to customer satisfaction and renewable energy.
Leading a small team, you will maintain compliance, optimise billing systems, and deliver timely
tariff updates, driving operational excellence and sustainable energy initiatives.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
What you will be doing:
1. Provide guidance to billing and customer operations team members, ensuring efficient and
accurate operation of billing processes.
2. Conduct regular audits of account information, resolve complex billing inquiries, and
implement corrective actions as needed.
3. Promote customer satisfaction by maintaining a high standard of customer service through
professional interactions.
4. Create, maintain, and audit Jacana Energy’s price plans and tariffs within the Retail
Operating System (ROS).
5. Conduct exception reporting and initiate corrective actions to maintain tariff accuracy.
6. Work with stakeholders to execute annual pricing plan updates and Renewable Energy
Certificate (REC) recovery projects.
7. Maintain, review, and update all requests for data from the meter data provider including
the accurate updating of the GSL payments and ACS charges reconciliation.
8. Provide regular training and procedural updates on tariff management to internal teams.
9. Comply with the Code of Conduct and all operational policies, procedures, governance
frameworks and guidelines in place across the organisation.
SELECTION CRITERIA
The ideal candidate must have:
1. Demonstrated analytical skills and proactive problem-solving abilities, with a strong focus on
numerical accuracy and attention to details in managing complex billing and tariff issues.
2. Extensive knowledge with billing and tariff processes, procedures including management
systems and relevant regulatory guidelines.
3. Proven ability to prioritise work commitments, meet deadlines and demonstrate sound
computer literacy, including proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and business
systems.
4. Demonstrated interpersonal and motivational skills to work in a multi-skilled work group to
achieve positive outcomes for customers and the organisation.
5. Highly developed communication and facilitation skills to engage effectively with a diverse
range of internal and external stakeholders to bring a broad range of issues to successful
resolution.
6. Commitment to providing a high standard of customer service and operating within the

Wellbeing.
You may also have:
1. Knowledge of data integrity and accuracy checking methods related to utility tariff and
billing systems.
2. Previous experience working in an energy and/or government sector.
