Your part in UnitingCare Hospitals team
A key role in our Patient Administration team, you’ll be accountable for the effective billing of inpatients for their care and treatment undertaken at UnitingCare Hospitals. Liaising with various hospital stakeholders, you’ll provide accurate and timely billing to patients, ensuring they’re provided accurate financial statements through exceptional customer service.
You will:
- Monitor inpatients for ICU admissions, Long Stay and rehabilitation patients for certificate requirements.
- Liaise with doctors rooms and internal hospital departments for other certificate requirements.
- Monitor billing system for accounts that can be billed using appropriate lists and reports.
- Bill accounts in accordance with relevant health fund contracts and government requirements
- Liaise with health funds to ensure accounts are paid promptly. Supply health funds with any documentation from the patient medical record as required.
- Follow up with patients for outstanding excess, co-payments or other relevant charges
- Liaise with patients for any documentation sent out to the patient by the health fund
- Monitor the In-Patient trial balance to ensure all outstanding accounts are actioned
- Liaise with internal hospital departments and health fund to ensure all health fund audits are completed promptly
What makes a difference for us?
- Previous billing experience, either in Accounts Payable, Receivable or Hospital Billing Role
- Exceptional communication skills including the ability to manage conversations with patients regarding payments
- Excellent time-management skills, with the ability to independently prioritise your workload
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in your day to day work
- An understanding of the private health system, including insurers and hospital funds
