Job Responsibility:
- Inspect and grade produce to ensure compliance with grades, standards, and phytosanitary requirements
Job Duties:
- Visually inspects berries to determine grade and compliance with state and federal standards, industry contract specifications, and phytosanitary requirements.
- Inspects and samples of berries; for example feed, seed, fertilizer, and those needed for other plant pest management projects.
- Conducts trappings, surveys, and facility inspections.
- Ensures compliance with state and federal laws applicable to products.
- Checks size of berries, amount, and seriousness of defects.
- Observes and records colour characteristics, firmness, maturity, and shape.
- Issues inspection report showing the grade and condition of the inspected berries.
- Explains, both verbally and in writing, the grading system and related standards to produce and commodity clients.
- Prepares and maintains reports, records, and forms related to the work.
- Performs related work and other tasks as assigned.
Qualification:
· AQF Diploma or Higher
· 2-4 years of experience in related field
· At least five years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
