About us

The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.

About the role

The Business Support Officer provides high-quality administrative support to the Digital Platforms division, with a focus on a major 15-month program of work delivering services to help Victorian families. This program includes multiple delivery teams and a temporary surge workforce comprising VPS staff and teams from external vendor partners.

About you

To be succesfull in this role, you need to have:

  • The ability to build positive rapport with people and a demonstrated commitment to help people and complex projects be successful
  • A good eye for detail (e.g., for matching invoices to timesheets)
  • The ability to create Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents quickly and accurately
  • Good general digital skills as we use online tools a lot (e.g., SharePoint and Confluence - we can train in the specific tools)
  • Availability to work from Footscray, the CBD, or elsewhere in Melbourne as required
  • The ability to take minutes for working groups (so good typing, and some experience with minutes or notetaking will be ideal)
