Mint Kitchens is offering an attractive position for a motivated individual to join our young and energetic team in a full-time position. We have been established for 24 years delivering high quality commercial and detailed joinery. You will be part of a large team, and you will need to be willing to learn and be trained to our high standards.
The Kitchen Designer is responsible for working closely with clients to design functional, stylish, and custom kitchen solutions that align with their needs, while coordinating with cabinet makers and installers to ensure accurate project delivery. Key duties include:
Responsibilities
- Collaborate and discuss with managers to understand client requirements and job specifications through architectural drawings.
- Creating precise and detailed joinery designs using Cabinet Vision Software.
- Collaborate and communicate with production team to make sure that there are minimal errors in transition from design to production
- Design accurate cabinet designs to meet client approvals and sign offs
- Meet with clients to understand their needs
- Provide expert advice on layout, style, finishes, and functionality
- Ensure selections are compatible with budget and manufacturing capabilities
- Liaise with estimators and suppliers to confirm pricing and availability
- Produce CNC files and shop drawings for production
- Prepare Material Orders as required
- Coordinate timelines and communicate design progress with clients and internal teams
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service throughout the project lifecycle.
- Handle changes or revisions to designs and resolve any client concerns diplomatically
- Maintain accurate records of all client interactions, design versions, approvals, and changes.
- Prepare and submit necessary documents for sign-off and production
Requirements
- Skilled and have sound knowledge of Cabinet Vision Solid (Version 21 Preferred).
- Qualified Cabinet Maker Advantageous but not Essential.
- Sales experience is an advantage.
- Able to interpret architectural drawings.
- Site Measuring experience is an advantage.
- Have a high attention to detail and precision.
- Strong understanding of joinery materials and hardware.
- Accountability and self-driven.
- Able to work well within a team.
